Our Story

Leading children, young people and families to experience the tangible Presence of God through Worship.

History:
Founded by Lesley Keenan (Gomez) in 1986. LAMA turns 36 this October 2022.

The name LAMA is taken from the Bible in John 10:10 New King James Version, “The thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. I (JESUS) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Life And More Abundant Ministries was founded in 1983 by Lesley Keenan – a Charity sharing the Good News of God’s love and teachings of Jesus. With her husband, Peter, they established LAMA House, a residential home in the Philippines for boys in crisis situations. Since 1997 LAMA House provided long term residential care and crisis intervention for more than a hundred boys aged 9—19 rescued from neglect, abuse or abandonment. LAMA House was licensed and accredited with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippines.
LAMA House closed during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. In 2022 it re-opened as a Worship Centre for Youth, no longer providing residential care but continuing the wider vision of reaching young people for Christ.
